The 5 Best Cycling Apps that you Should Download

There's no shortage of apps aimed at cyclists. In fact, that is the problem. There are so many apps out there that choosing the right one can be quite confusing even for experienced cyclists. To help you choose, we've selected a few cycling apps that you can use to track your ride, give you extra motivation, to help with route planning, and much more.

Strava (Free or upgrade to Premium for $9.99*/month): Strava is not only a miniature cycling computer that will help you determine how fast you are tracking on a selected segment - such as the local hard climb - it also has a social component to it. With it you can follow friends and see their progress as cyclists, plus you can leave comments and photos which they will receive.

The road bike manual (For IOS and Android $2.99): If you are into repairing and maintaining your own bicycle, this app is for you. The Road Bike Manual details every workshop task you can think of. It also contains dozens of videos and hundreds of images that will help you keep your bike in tip-top shape using easy to follow steps.

Map my ride GPS (Free or upgrade for more added benefits iOS, Android, Windows): Using this app you can create and plan your own routes, plan your training and nutrition using the training log feature, share the details of your fitness activities via email, Facebook, or Twitter and much more. Google Maps (Free for IOS and Android): Still one of the best apps out there, Google Maps helps cyclists by providing them with up-to-date, safe, biking routes, turn-by-turn directions and estimated travel time, real-time updates on traffic conditions and ETAs, etc. Plus Google Maps has the added benefit of being free and easy to use.

First aid for cyclists: Statistically speaking, 19,000 cyclists are killed or injured in road accidents per year. This app helps by providing cyclists with valuable, on-the-spot first aid information when an accident has occurred.

With these apps you should have the high tech tools you need to enjoy your ride at your fingertips. We want everyone to be able to enjoy our bike tour vacations and our Greece adventure tours and another way to do this is to make sure that you are in tiptop shape following each and every ride. Good luck and we'll see you soon.
