Daily Itinerary

(includes 3 dinners, wine reception, 5 breakfasts, transfers from and to Albany airport or to car at last hotel, & rental bicycle)

Day 1

Arrive to Hudson, NY. Meet your guides and get fitted with your bicycle. Plan time to visit the city's antiques, art galleries, and wonderful architecture. Short optional warm-up ride. We will meet at 6 pm at the inn for an orientation.

Day 2

Loop ride north, east of Hudson through quaint villages. Among the things to do and see are the Omi International Arts Center with its outdoor sculpture garden, the Old Chatham Shepherding Company, and the residence of Martin Van Buren. (25 or 40 miles)

Day 3

Ride to Rhinebeck. This ride takes us along quiet roads and takes in Olana, the splendid Moorish mansion of Hudson River painter Frederic Church, Bard college with its Frank Gehry building, and the Clermont Estate. (28 or 45 miles)

Day 4

Loop out of Rhinebeck. The historic homes of the day's ride include Vanderbilt, Mills, and Springwood in Hyde Park. You will also get to see Val-Kill. (30 miles)

Day 5

Ride to New Paltz. Cross the longest pedestrian bridge in the world and cycle on to the famous (28 or 45 miles)

Day 6

Breakfast then final farewells. Morning transfer back to your car and then on to Albany airport.
